0:00 Hello! I'm going to show you how to update the meta descriptions and title tags for your archive pages for post types.
0:09 Um, so, on this particular example site that I've got, we have a blog, and we also have some team pages.
0:16 So this is our blog archive page. Um, you'll notice if I click edit page right here on the blog, this will take me to the back end of the page, uh, for the blog archive website.
0:28 Where I can then come down here and, uh, insert my SEO title and meta description in the Yoast section. So this is for the archive page of my blog.
0:37 Now, depending on how your site has been set up. And the needs of your particular post types. You may come to the archives page for your post type and not see a button here that says edit page.
0:50 If that's the case, there is a different way that you'll need to go about updating your, uh, SEO title. So to do that, you'll come into the back end of WordPress and in your sidebar over here, you're going to come down to Yoast and then settings.
1:04 And under Yoast settings, it's in our left hand sidebar right here, you'll see this section that says content types. This will allow you to go to, let's say team bios.
1:15 For instance, I click on my team bios content type. Um, this will give you some. Templates here. So this is just a, uh, templated information for how to set up the SEO titles and meta descriptions for the team bio detail pages.
1:29 But if I scroll down and keep scrolling to this section here that says team bios archive, you'll see this right here.
1:37 Um, so this has got some variables in place right now. It's pulling in the name of the post type and then the word archive.
1:43 Um, and then a separator and a site title with the meta description down here. So this is where you can update this.
1:50 If you want to remove the, uh, the SEO title or delete it. Do your sort of, I don't know, your own thing for, in this case, the Team Bios archive.
1:57 You can do that, uh, this way as well. This will do, um, the same thing in the event that you can't see, um, an edit page button on your archive page.
