0:00 Hello, this is just a quick tutorial to show you how to add a menu to a language in WPML. So, when you start building out menus for other languages, you'll want to do them paired with the other English versions.
0:17 So, in this case, I'm going to come to footer menu 3, which I know I have not created in my other language, which is Portuguese, for this example.
0:26 I'm going to come to footer menu 3, and when I come here, you'll see right next to the name of the menu, there's this option here that says translation.
0:33 And you can add a translation to, in this case, Portuguese. So, I'm going to go ahead and add this. So, clicking that will create a new blank menu.
0:43 I'm going to call this PT, for Portuguese, footer menu 3. And you'll notice, because I clicked that plus icon from the English version, it's already paired here with the English version of footer menu 3. Next what I'm going to do is select here under menu settings which location it should live in.
1:03 So, this one, obviously, corresponds to footer menu 3, but if you're not sure where to put it, uhm, go back to the English version of the menu that you're creating and you just want it to be the same here.
1:12 So, in this case, it's footer menu 3. It's pretty straightforward. Uhm, so next what I'm going to start doing is building out my pages again, and I know I've got my careers page.
1:21 My about page, sustainability, find a rep, and the Doctor Day newsletter, so these are just some specific pieces of content that we've got on our footer menu 3 in English that I'm then going to bring over to my Portuguese menu 3. Uhm, so my first one, uh, careers, is actually not a part of the Portuguese
1:43 site for this particular site. I'm going to go ahead and click create menu, uhm, so we can actually start adding stuff.
1:50 So in this case, this is where you'll want to follow your content plan. So if I were to come to my all pages view, which is typically where I would start adding pages, there's no careers page, there's no corresponding careers page for the Portuguese site, so I'm going to skip this first one and go to
2:08 about. And I happen to know that the translation for the about page is so pretty. I'm going to add this one, and you can see that's here.
2:18 Next is sustainability, which I happen to know is a subpage of about. So we'll add that. Find a rep is also not included on the Portuguese site, so I'm going to skip this one.
2:34 And the Dr. Day newsletter. The Dr. Day newsletter here has a very long name in Portuguese, so I'm just going to search for it.
2:41 It didn't work. Ah, here we go. It's this one right here. So I'm going to add this to the menu.
2:55 And now I can click on click save. So now that I've got all of my corresponding pages, of course, not every page in English has a corresponding Portuguese page.
3:03 But because I've got all of those, I've got these created. I've added them to my page and click save menu.
3:09 And now when I go to the front end of the Portuguese site, these are the URLs. That will show up in footer menu three.
3:15 Um, so this is an easier example. Obviously, if you're looking at a more robust menu, like a mega menu or, uh, um, your primary nav or your secondary nav, those will take a little bit more time, but it's essentially the same process.
