How to Translate Taxonomies with WPML's Taxonomy Translation Tool

0:00 Hello! This is just a super quick tutorial for how to use WPML's taxonomy translation tool. If your site has WPML in place, you'll see WPML over here in your sidebar, and underneath this you'll see the taxonomy translation tool right here. 0:16 So when you come here, uhm, and scroll back up to the top, you'll see this drop down here, and this will have a list of all of your taxonomies on your site. 0:25 This list will look very different depending on, uh, the needs of your site and the particular taxonomies that you have in place. 0:32 Umm. So I'm gonna do, I'm gonna translate a blog category. When you come here, you'll see a list of all of the taxonomy, the terms that belong to that taxonomy. 0:43 Listed it out, um, with little plus icons next to all of your languages. So in this case, uhh, this particular site is just being translated to Portuguese. 0:51 Um, so we've got one column here, but you may see multiple columns here. If that's the case, you'll need to add multiple translations for, for each language. 0:59 Um, so I'm gonna do, our, my next one here is, uh, this homo or category. You can see here these ones that have pencil icons have already been translated. 1:08 Um, so I'm just gonna copy my translation really quickly. Come in here, click my- plus icon, and this will bring up this term translation window. 1:19 So now I can paste this in. The slug will generate automatically, and then you can hit save. And that's all there is to it. 1:27 Um, so if you add any new blog categories down the road, you want to make sure that you come in here and add a translation for all of your other languages in the future.
